Set to release later this month, Vault by Vans and BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS are giving fans a preview of their upcoming collaboration. The collection of the Authentic LX, Old Skool LX and apparel blends Vault by Vans’ West Coast roots with the Tokyo street culture that informs BEDWIN’s iconic designs. Drawing inspiration from traditional American menswear from the ’80s and ’90s, a bold paisley print runs all over the collection. Featuring sneakers, T-shirts, hoodies and bucket hats, each piece includes fragments of USA-made bandanas. The collaboration’s paisley pattern is key to the BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS’ brand, which was founded by Masafumi “Bebetan” Watanabe in Tokyo in 2004. Other features of this collection include contrasting colors, like the red band found on bottom of the shoe, and the combining of mismatched paisley bananas in unexpected ways.

No matter if he’s playfully crafting Hawaiian-inspired shirt-and-short drops for the summer or making a Carhartt-inspired “Varhartt” mule, Vandy the Pink’s creations are consistently lighthearted and whimsical. This isn’t just a marketing gimmick either — it’s simply a reflection of the Korean creator’s personality. “I’m trying to communicate, make friends, have fun” he tells me. “I’m inspired by a lot of things and want to share those inspirations and the joy they can bring with the people around me.” Vandy started in fashion by customizing shoes and clothes, taking fabrics from luxury brands and applying them to his own bespoke pieces in the tradition of creators like Dapper Dan. Among his many custom creations were several standout iterations of the Reebok Beatnik, spotlighted in an installment of HYPEBEAST’s Sole Mates series. However, he wanted to evolve beyond that. “I got tired of using other people’s things,” he reminisces. “I decided to make my own products from scratch, and I started off by creating original characters.”

Following the launch of its Ares road shoe earlier this year, Specialized turns its attention off-road with the reintroduction of the S-Works Recon cycling shoe, but this time with laces. Designed with gravel riding in mind, the S-Works Recon Lace combines Specialized’s Body Geometry features with the performance and durability that we’ve come to expect from S-Works, but the introduction of laces is a game-changer. Giving riders multiple points of cincture to effect precise adjustment, laces offer comfort over a long period of time and allows you to hone in on the perfect fit. What’s more, the shoe has been eradicated of any extraneous hardware, which results in an almost hugging effect on each foot. Boasting the same high-performance carbon outsole found on other Recon models, the S-Works Recon Lace ensures no pedal power is wasted, while a built-in Varus Wedge and Body Geometry stabilizes the natural movement of the forefoot, which, in turn, improves both foot, knee, and hip alignment too.

Nike's Dunk High Simmers in "Yellow Acid Wash"

Tagging along the Dunk High “Black Acid Wash” debut, Nike (NYSE:NKE -0.03%) adds another rendition of the classic 1985 basketball shoe turned streetwear in a “Yellow Acid Wash” colorway. Although rumored to be a collaboration between the sportswear giant and UNDERCOVER, the design shows no sign of branding associated with Jun Takahashi’s label. The shoe is shaped up with a smooth black leather base wrapped with a yellow and black acid wash overlay and eyestay. An electric yellow hue translates onto the Swoosh, collar and tongue tag while contrasting the acid blotch pattern is a mustard yellow midsole that’s sealed off with a pastel yellow to complete the look.

Nike's Air Max 97 "First Use" Arrives in Blood Orange

With the 50th-anniversary of the iconic Swoosh coming July 18, Nike (NYSE:NKE -0.03%) reveals another celebratory Air Max 97 silhouette. This shoe comes dressed in white and dark orange in a mix of layered suede, mesh, and leather. A black swoosh outline and “June 18, 1971” text is printed on the inner arch on the medial side. Below, a white midsole and full-length Air unit sit atop black rubber outsoles. Accents including the retro tongue tab, “Nike” text pull tab, and gold swoosh lace clip round out the commemorative sneaker.

This Jordan Series .01 Is An Ode To The 90s

Whether you love or hate the blaring fashion of the ’90s, the era did bring about some iconic looks that are still remembered. Even Michael Jordan himself sported some daring pieces back in the day. As seen on “The Last Dance,” color-blocked windbreakers, oversized power suits, and berets were all a part of the GOAT’s standout off-court style during the height of his career. An upcoming Jordan Series .01 is paying tribute to the time period by embracing the funky colors and patterns signature to the ’90s. The low-top silhouette, often compared to skate shoes thanks to a rubberized sole, is primarily covered in hairy suede. Alluding to the loud fashions that were trending almost three decades ago, a neon “Key Lime” shade is applied to the toe while the remainder of the upper exhibits an equally vibrant “Light Voltage Yellow” tone. The fun continues with a section of the lace collar showcasing leopard prints. As with other models within the commemorative Jordan Series .01 line, “Dear ’90s,” is embroidered on the lateral side to further pay homage to MJ’s most career-defining period. The aforementioned text is repeated in black on the tongue labels to complete the retro style.

The adidas ZX 10/8 “Candyverse” Offers Up A Sweet-Toothed Colorway

Though not quite the trip to Candyland Reebok experienced earlier in the year, adidas’ upcoming ZX 10/8 — which blends the best parts of the 10000 and 8000 silhouettes — will undoubtedly satiate your cravings for sweets. Dubbed the “Candyverse,” the colorway strings together not only cavity-inducing pastels but also a string of confectionery-inspired textures. Ribbed panels shine in a loud orange, poking their head out from the base through the greyed out suedes and green-tinted stripes. The tongue mirrors the sculpted material’s finish and feel, though in a light blue to better suit the laces over top. Elsewhere, pink overlays dress the toe cap, neutral mesh builds out the rest of the forefoot, and a candy-cane resmiscent material sits quietly behind the full white heel clip. The adidas FUTURECRAFT 4D Shines A Neon Spotlight On Its Accents

When the adidas FUTURECRAFT 4D made its return earlier in the year, it was big news. But all excitement quickly faded as the Forum took the #1 position, overshadowing even the silhouette’s “Triple Black” and “Cream” follow-ups. And while not quite as exciting as many of these, this upcoming neon colorway is a step down a fresh path. Presumed to be a sample — and marked with pencil in the official images — the pair starts on neutral footing. The Primeknit is clad near fully in black, the threads inspiring even the laces and lattice-constructed sole. Below, however, the tread pops in a bright, aqua blue, setting the base notes on which the orange-accented Stripes and neon green lining can play off of.

Crisscrossing basketball-ready durability and lifestyle comfort, Jordan Brand has been able to deliver a silhouette versatile enough to let into fans’ sneaker rotations yet retain the boldness that is rooted in the brand’s DNA—the Jordan Delta 2. The Nike React foam-cushioned model is receiving yet another lifestyle-friendly colorway that sees the slightest hints of neon. For its mixed material upper, this Delta 2 primarily consists of a grey mesh build that is complemented by leather and suede overlays in a matching shade. Even the TPU overlay that sits above the midsole opts for a grey finish. As for the tongue and heel area, black neoprene is used to expand the color palette while still maintaining the greyscale theme. This leaves the heel tab loop and micro-branded elements such as the Jumpman label and the embroidered “23” left with the task to bring about pops of color onto the offering—specifically a vibrant crimson. Summer is nearly over and that means the bright colors are out. Nike, quickly, is responding in kind, offering classics like the Air Max 97 in a number of greyscale colorways. But like many before, this pair takes a slight deviation, opting to tinge every panel with a slight hint of blue. While grey at a glance, the ripstop base is quite deceiving, and its inclusion makes the rest of the neutral construction seem equally as cool-toned. The deep blacks, however, avoid any confusion, dressing the Swoosh, upper, lace unit, and lining in the exact same shade.

Nike Changes Up The Two-Toned Color-Blocking With The Women’s Air Force 1

The possibilities with the Nike Air Force 1 are near endless, and yet it’s still rare to see the brand deviate from their more typical color blockings. However, via this upcoming women’s exclusive, we’re finally seeing the silhouette go a bit against the grain. “Triple White” still plays a large part in the overall colorway, though, with most of the upper dressed in said neutral. A slight tumbling provides noteworthy distinction over top, but not quite as much as the bright green overlays. The shade, which is found along the Swoosh, eye stays, heel tab, laces, and tongue label, pop in an arrangement not entirely common, effectively bringing a fresh look right in time for Summer’s close.

The Jordan Point Lane Is Back With Hits Of Lightning Yellow

Taking design cues from the Air Jordan and Nike Air Max franchises, the Jordan Point Lane arrives as a new silhouette that has a basketball-ready look while also infusing lifestyle-ready comfort. The Jordan Point Lane collection expands as the Jumpman adds subtle hits of color to a white and black offering. For its leather and textile base, which seems to be heavily inspired by the Air Jordan 6, adopts a full-white finish. A translucent TPU heel overlay similar to that on the Nike Air Max 90 continues the bright white theme that has previously been estalished. The sockliner, heel’s Air Max unit, and midsole overlay create contrast by opting for a black tint. Furthermore, Jumpman logos on the tongue and the Air Jordan 11-reminiscent label on the lateral side introduce an unexpected “Lightning Yellow” to the design. An outsole split between translucent rubber and a pitch-black finish rounds out the look while creating a satisfying balance between light and dark elements.

It’s been rather quiet on the adidas Yeezy front as of late. With no known July 2021 releases on the ledger, Kanye’s footwear legion will have to wait until August for more confirmed releases, but the wait will be well worth it. According to footwear retailers, the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2 “Light” will officially release on August 28th in both adult and kids sizes. And as the first color-changing Yeezy 350 model, these are sure to garner some revitalized attention on the most-produced Yeezy sneaker to date. Under normal lightning, the Yeezy Boost 350 v2 “Light” appears like your run-of-the-mill white/light yellow colorway – a common occurrence with the model. However, under UV light directly from the sun, the transparent mesh stripe changes colors into the deep yellow for some much-needed contrast on the rather simple shoe. Off-White Returns To The Track With The Air Zoom Tempo NEXT%

Split between Off-White and Louis Vuitton, it’s hard to keep up with Virgil Abloh. And after the designer bridged the gap between Nike and the luxury atelier, he’s already preparing to offer yet another collaborative project: the Air Zoom Tempo NEXT%. Effectively Abloh’s return to the track, the collaboration sees the aforementioned silhouette dressed three ways, each lensed through the streetwear label’s signature design language. Aside from their dramatically distinct choice of palette — one black and green; the next a vivid mix of hot pink, purple, and black; and the last a Tokyo-inspired White/Red combo — their finer details are rather identical. Track spikes adorn the pair underfoot, cushioned above by bright green Air Units and a thick midsole. Branding, then, follows suit, spelling out “AIR” along the side with the signature quotation marks. The upper also retains the usual Helvetica, while the Swoosh opposite bears a jagged, off-kilter look that resembles the knit it rests atop.

The Newest FlyEase Shoe, The Nike Glide, Is Coming Soon

With the creation of FlyEase, Nike made great strides towards inclusivity, allowing many the ability to wear shoes previously thought impossible. Today, however, that noble intention has begun to blur, the brand now tweaking the technology for sport. The brand new Glide FlyEase, for example, is meant for the on-the-go athlete who can’t afford to waste their adrenaline tying their shoes… A hands-free solution like the Go FlyEase before it, the Glide offers a near seamless, sleek look composed almost entirely out of mesh materials. Overlaid atop there are a few taped panels that add further rigidity to the points the thick stitching does not reach. Then, for cosmetic touch, both the Move To Zero logo and the beloved Swoosh pop in white, complementing the “FlyEase” text that dresses the adjacent pulls. Below, Grind rubbers make up the entire tooling, while recycled TPU builds out the robust, foldable heel clip.

The CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “K.O.D.” Solar Red, Designed For Kanye West, Is Set For A Return

Teased throughout the better part of the past week, CLOT has yet another “K.O.D.” release in the works, this iteration a nod to one of the rarest colorways in the label’s repertoire. Rounding out an already eventful series — headed first by the OG and then the “CHA” subsequently — the upcoming “Solar Red” takes us all the way back to 2006 when Kanye West hit the “Touch The Sky” stage wearing an exclusive Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death.” Presumed to be only several pairs in existence, the pink version of the collaboration has become something of a legend, with Ye’s name making it all the more coveted. What’s more, Nike ID offered the very same color options not long after, which forced the Swoosh to halt all production of the combo. Today, 15 years later, the shoe is finally making its way back, albeit with a few subtle changes. For starters, the heel is upgraded with a reflective finish and embroidered with gilded thread; below, the reflexology-themed prints make a return as well, complementing the insole’s own graphic. But elsewhere, everything is near true to the original, colored with pink and grey suedes and outfitted with a sheer mesh toe as well as an elegant “CLOT” debossing.

BAPE’s Style And Coach’s Craftsmanship Meet With Upcoming Ready-To-Wear Collection

In yet another case of luxury-meets-streetwear, Coach is teaming up with A Bathing Ape on a full range of ready-to-wear classics. The campaign casts stars Megan Thee Stallion, Cordae, and Kōki, all clad head-to-toe in graphic tees, hoodies, limited-edition accessories, and much, much more. But among the entire collection, the BAPE STA is undoubtedly the star of the show, its classic design lensed through the high fashion brand’s signature craftsmanship. Overlaid atop the forefoot, eye stay, and counter are thick, premium swatches of denim whose wash alternates between light and dark displays of indigo. An equally robust leather shapes the star logo as well as the additional Rexy dinosaur, commemorating the partnership as a whole. A Series Of Pastels Arrive On A New Nike Air Force 1 Shadow

With a slew of overlays that are seeing double, the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow is a style that is open to infinite color combinations. Playtime with color palettes continues with an upcoming pastel-accented pair that ditches the usual white base. The women’s exclusive flaunts “Sail” uppers constructed of primarily smooth leather. On the lateral side, the pastel tints are mostly applied to the hindfoot area. Such tones include a muted blue on a panel, “Pink Glaze” coloring the Swoosh and heel tab, and the rubber midsole overlay’s “Orange Chalk” makeup. These shades are much more balanced on the medial side, where the aforementioned pink and blue are found on both the toe and the heel, respectively. Black piping details on the tongue label and the darkened branding on the heel tab break away from the pastels to deliver a graphic look that completes the stylish offering. ムーンスター(MOONSTAR)のスニーカー「デッキスポーツ(DECKSPORT)」の復刻モデルが、2021年9月上旬に発売される。「デッキスポーツ」は、国内でもごくわずかな?場しか?産することのできない「ヴァルカナイズ製法」で作られたスニーカーだ。この製法によるシューズは、ソールがしなやかで柔らかく、丈夫で壊れにくいことが特徴。なかでも「デッキスポーツ」は、足が細長く綺麗に見えるシルエットに仕上げられている。「デッキスポーツ」は2018年に廃盤となったが、今回はブラックモノとナチュラルの2色で復刻。また、通常のシューズよりも目の細かいしなやかなキャンバス生地をアッパーに使用することで、柔かく包み込むような履き心地を実現した。

バレンシアガ(BALENCIAGA)から新作ユニセックスシューズ「ランナー(Runner)」が、2021年7月16日(金)よりキス トウキョウにて先行発売される。「ランナー」は、数種類のランニングシューズの要素を1つに集約したようなユニークなスニーカー。切りっぱなしのパーツやステッチ、接着剤など、まるで製造の途中のような加工を施し、アッパーデザインとして落とし込んでいる。ボリュームのある靴底は、ブランドのアイコンシューズ「バレンシアガ トラック」のシルエットを採用。構築的なビジュアルだけでなく、快適な履き心地も兼ね備えている。

プーマ(PUMA)より、現代ポップアーティストのロメロ?ブリット(Romero Britto)とのコラボレーションによるカプセルコレクションが登場。2021年7月17日(土)より、プーマストア原宿、プーマストア大阪、プーマストア京都、プーマストア福岡ほかにて発売される。 コラボレーション相手となったロメロ?ブリットは、「愛、希望、幸福」をキーワードにした色彩豊かな作品で知られる世界的アーティスト。ポップアートとグラフィティアートを融合させるなど、鮮やかなスタイルが特徴的だ。今回のコレクションでは、プーマとブリットのスタイルに加え、90年代のイメージを採用。パープルとオレンジの鮮やかな組み合わせをベースに、ブリットの躍動感溢れるグラフィックを施している。
